Life is made up of a series of decisions. We often take these for granted, but it is our infinite decisions that ultimately make up our unique lives.
Work, school, relationships of all kinds…. Life has so many demands that it’s often a challenge to keep up, much less enjoy it all. Whether you’re content with your life and want to look at new options so you can grow…or you’re suffering, stuck and need to consider changes … There is one thing that’s nearly always true: There are decisions to be made.
It can be helpful to stop and take stock, to allow yourself some extra support during painful or even exciting times of change.
We can work together and sort things out. Decisions can be freeing and they lead to life unfolding in new ways.
Experience – Kate Byrnes, MS, LMFT
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to serve and learn from an incredibly diverse clientele from ages 2 – 90s, range of cultures and ethnicities, sexual orientations and across the gender spectrum, from all walks of life in countless moments of need, vulnerability, triumph and growth. As a result, I have deep compassion for the complexities of being human. I respect and truly understand the benefits of confidential therapy, trust and customized treatment in healing and growth.
Some clinical experience that may benefit you in our work together:
Private Therapy/Counseling: Many years of providing supportive therapy to people through life, love, grief, loss, stress, divorce, anxiety, depression, parenting, trauma, substance abuse, relationship challenges and more. I understand that people are more alike than we are different – yet somehow everyone remains quite unique.
Collaborative Practice: Over the past 10 years I’ve worked together with interdisciplinary teams to negotiate confidential divorces and other significant relationship problems. A trained mediator with significant discretion, I’ve successfully supported clients through highly sensitive and complex matters throughout some of their hardest times in life.
Community Mental Health: I’ve had the experience of serving as a therapist to children emerging from abuse and neglect, in foster care and the range of painful situations faced by homeless and highly vulnerable families. This resulted in a deep understanding of the social and economic factors that impact families often across generations.
